  • Reference Services

    1. Users who are looking for information resources for teaching and research are advised to consult the librarian at the Reference Desk (Level 1) to get guidance on the searching techniques.
    2. The librarian will assist to identify the actual needs before suggesting relevant resources.
    3. Reference service is opened to all users during library operation hours.  
  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

    1. This service allows users to borrow reference resources that are unavailable at UTHM Library but can be obtained from other academic libraries in Malaysia and British Library.
    2. This service is free of charge. Apart from books and standards, users can also obtain journal articles and conference proceedings. 
    3. The length of the borrowing period is subject to the rules imposed by the supplying library.
    4. Users can fill in an application form available at the Reference Desk and Circulation Counter (Level 1).

  • Full Text Undergraduate Projects (PSM)

    Registered students may request an Undergraduate Project in full text. Click here. 

  • Faculty Liaison Officers (FLO)

    Faculty Liaison Officer (FLO) Librarians help to facilitate the use of information in support of teaching, learning and research of the faculties concerned.

    Each faculty in UTHM has a librarian linked to it who represents the library in day-to-day relations with the said parties regarding the resources and services. They will work with the faculty in developing the library’s teaching stock, liaising with academic staff to determine the resource needs of new and existing courses and ensuring that recommended reading is available in the library for the purpose of  to strengthen the relationship as well as to build an effective communication for both sides.

    FLO also support in research activitities. They will be ready to offer bibliographical assistance and also help in the process of registration of publication and verification. 

  • Acquisition of Reference Materials

    1. Academic staff may suggest new titles of reference materials, either in printed or digital format, for library collection.
    2. Suggestions can be made either through the book exhibition or publisher’s catalog.
    3. The proposed title must be related to the courses or academic programs offered by the university, as well as support teaching and research activities. 
    4. The acquisition of reference materials is subject to the approval of the relevant authorities and compliance with financial rules.
  • Submission of Seminar Materials

    Seminar Materials

    1. PTTA provides various reference resources which includes papers presented at seminars, conferences, conventions, symposiums, workshops or colloquiums either organized by UTHM or other organizations.
    2. Seminar materials are an important but elusive source of scientific and technical information.
    3. These materials are categorized as UTHM Special Collections and should be submitted to the Digital Collections Development Division.
  • Publication Verification

    1. PTTA responsible to verify the record that has been entered into the university publication systems (SMPU) especially by the academic staff.
    2. The records consist of article journal, conference paper, chapter in book, monograph, policy paper and general publication.
    3. The verification process is performed to confirm that the publication is indexed by Scopus or other databases.  
    4. It is also to verify the rankings and impact factors of the publication in Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
    5. The records must meet the criteria set by Myra and MyMohes.
  • Publication Incentive Claims

    Type of Eligible Publication
    - WOS indexed journals with impact factor values in Q1, Q2, Q3 & Q4 categories (SCIE/SSCI). Please refer to the JCR website
    - SCOPUS indexed journals.
    - MyCite indexed journals.

    New Rates of Incentive
    (for journal articles published from January 1, 2023)

    - WOS indexed journals Q1 (SCIE/SSCI) - RM2000.00
    - WOS indexed journals Q2 (SCIE/SSCI) - RM1000.00
    - WOS indexed journals Q3 & Q4 (SCIE/SSCI) - RM300.00

    - SCOPUS indexed journals - RM300.00
    - MyCite indexed journals - RM100.00

    Who is Eligible to Apply

    i. UTHM academic staff
    ii. Corresponding author; or
    iii. First author of UTHM if the article is a collaboration with a university or industry

    How to Apply for Incentive
    i. The application for publication incentive is made through SMPU
    ii. A record of articles that have been activated and eligible, will be dispalyed in the "Permohonan Imbuhan" menu
    iii. Click the "MOHON" button

    *the incentive request must be submitted within 3 months of the article's publication in the journal
    *The approval of the application is subject to the conditions imposed and the adequacy of University's financial resources

  • Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI)

    1. This service consists of the latest printed journal content page and new arrivals listing dissemination.
    2. The latest printed journal contents page is particularly for academic staff in which the content pages will be composed directly to the inbox of respective requesters email.
    3. Whereas the new arrivals listing is provided to give alert or current awareness to the users by compiling and publishing the listing of new materials received.
    4. This listing is arranged by subjects and distributed to both students and staff. 
  • Disability Liaison Officers (DLO)

    1. Assistance With Locating Resources.
    2. Special Literacy Classes for Information Access.
    3. Guidance and Support for Student with Disabilities.

  • Membership Registration

    Student & Staff
    All students and staff will be registered as library members.  Users' records will be downloaded from the student/staff information system to the library system. 

    New User
    New users are advised to check their account through the library website. If the record is still unavailable, users have to fill up the registration form at the Circulation Counter. 

    External User
    The community outside the campus can apply for external membership to utilize the resources and facilities provided.

     

     

  • Borrowing & Returning

    Borrowing

    1. Borrowing service in PTTA is determined according to the patron category. Please refer Borrowing Eligibility
    2. Borrowing of library materials can be done at the Circulation Counter.
    3. Users are required to bring their student/staff card and prohibited from using other user’s cards.
    4. Users will be given a borrowing slip for each transaction.
    5. Users are advised to check the due date on the slip or in the library account in order to avoid fines for late return


    Returning

    1.  Returning of the materials can be done at the Circulation Counter. 
    2. Users will be given a returning slip for each transaction.
    3. Users are advised to keep the slip and check the library account to ensure that the records have been updated.
  • Renewal

    1. Renewal can be done online through borrowing records in the library’s user account.
    2. Users can only renew twice.
    3. No renewal is allowed if other users have made reservations for the same items.
    4. Online renewal can be done before the due date.
  • Reminder / Overdue Notice

    Reminder Notice

    1. Reminder notice will be sent to users by email 7 days before the due date to remind them for loan renewal.

     

    Overdue Notice

    1. 1st notice will be sent 1 day after the due date if users fail to return the library materials.
    2. 2nd notice will be sent 7 days after the due date if users still fail to return the materials.
    3. 3rd notice (final notice) will be sent 13 days after the due date if users still fail to return the materials.
    4. User accounts will be barred if the total amount of fine has exceeded the maximum limit allowed.
    5. Users are required to return the materials and reactivate their account at the Circulation Counter. 
  • Reservation of Library Materials

    1. Users can reserve library materials that are currently on loan at the Circulation Counter or online through the catalog.
    2. The reserved materials will be located at the reservation shelf for 7 days after the materials return to the library.
    3. If the user who had reserved the materials did not turn up to collect it until the period ends, the reservation will be canceled, and it will be located at the open shelf.
    4. Users are advised to check the status of the materials through their library account.
  • Delivery Services

    1. Delivery services are provided for academic staff only within campus area.
    2. This service covers reserved material that consists of open access books, audio-visuals and inter-library loan materials.
    3. The titles requested for will be placed under the user library account and will be sent to the requester’s office.
    4. Besides, users can also request for returning the materials through this service.  
  • Inter-Campus Delivery Services (ICDS)

    1. ICDS offered loan to all UTHM residents especially in the Edu Hub Pagoh Campus.
    2. Application must ber submitted using the Inter-Campus Delivery Services Form available at PTTA Edu Hub Pagoh Resource Center Counter.
  • Replacement of Lost Material

    1. Users should report lost library materials at the Circulation Counter immediately.
    2. Users will be given one month to search for the lost materials.
    3. Users are required to replace it with the same materials or pay the price of the materials.
  • Reservation of Room

    1. PTTA offers different types of rooms that can be reserved for discussion, teaching and academic discourses.
    2. These rooms include Hikmah Rooms, Eksplorasi Rooms, Lestari Rooms and Al-Jazari Auditorium.
    3. Reservations can be made at the Circulation Counter, Level 1.
    4. This service is also offered to non-members (external users).
  • Printing Service

    1. Printing service is available at the main counter, Level 1. 
    2. Printing services can be made at main Counter, and charges for each is RM0.20/sheet for black and white.
